Real Party: Breast Cancer Fundraiser

First off, Happy Halloween everyone!  It's hard to believe that another Halloween has come and gone and that another October is in the books.  Did your house see a lot of trick or treaters tonight?  We had about 10-12 kids stop by... which was pretty good I thought, being that we're new to the neighborhood.  My favorite was a little girl who was dressed as an adorable witch telling me that Reese's were her favorite candy!  Ah, too cute!

I've been super busy getting stuff ready and brainstorming more ideas for the baby showers I'm hosting in the next couple of weeks - one for my sister on the 13th and one for a good friend from college on the 20th!  Geesh, before you know it, it's going to be Thanksgiving... then Christmas and the New Year!  Where did 2010 go (although, I'm really excited for this year to be over - it's been way too crazy for me!  I'm hoping 2011 comes with a better forecast!)... With the update on the showers, I wanted to apologize for my lack of postings lately - I promise to a better blogger!

Anyway, I wanted close out October with something that wasn't Halloween related, but still appropriate for the time.  I came across this adorable and super cute idea for a Breast Cancer Fundraiser and thought since October's ending, so is breast cancer awareness month - but that doesn't mean we should be supporting the cause and forget about the disease.  I had to share this because the details were just too great - and it was such a sassy party for a fundraiser!

I came across the fundraiser on Catch My Party.  The party was hosted by Aileen's friend Denise, who was raising money for the 3-day Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk.  Aileen is the creative mastermind behind Lil' Buckaroo Designs and designed the printables for the event {including the cute little bra art}.

How cute is this hot pink and black invite!  Such a great idea to spend time with your friends while still raising money for a great cause!
Didn't I tell you that bra art was too cute?!?!
Always nice to have some prizes on-hand to let your guests know you appreciate their donation and support!
A great color scheme carried throughout the party - beautiful!
These lovely letters were created by the hostess' twin sister.  If you're interested in purchasing some custom letters, head over to her Etsy shop, Twin Pop Designs, here.
Love how this looks kind of like a fishnet stocking - very sexy! :)
cute toppers!

more of those custom letters - great decor!
A silent auction - very nice touch!

Now, wasn't that a great fundraiser??  Makes me want to host one!  I seriously can't get over that adorable bra art - so cute!  Hot pink and black are one of my favorite color combos!  Great job ladies on the fundraiser - I hope you were able to raise all the funds you needed and more!

To see more details and pics of this party, check out Aileen's Catch My Party post here, or check out her blog post here.

New Series on the Cammi Lee Events blog!

This past Sunday I went to the Twin Cities Bridal Fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center... and there were a ton of great vendors to check out!  After attending the fair, I realized there are so many great vendors out there that I would like to get to know - especially because I'm working toward opening my own event business {it's always good to have more friends, ya know!}.  Any who, that got me thinking - what's the best way to get these vendors to know I'm out here?? And then it dawned on me - why not start a weekly series of interviewing a different local or online vendor!  It's a great way to initiate a conversation with new vendors, while also learning about the business and helping them get their name out there! Brilliant, right?? :)

So I have contacted my first featured vendor, and the post should be up either this weekend or early next week.  Until then... I'll leave you with a sneak peek!

If you have a business (online or in the Minnesota area) and you are interested in being a Featured Vendor on the Cammi Lee Events blog, please send us an email to info@eventsbycammi.com - we would love to showcase your work!!

Real Wedding: Green Love

Today's Wedding Wednesday feature comes from The Wedding Wire Blog.  I came across this and just loved the little details this Florida couple put together for their special day.  I haven't seen many weddings with a green theme, but thought the couple did a great job of making it look beautiful (and tasteful, because personally, I think there is a such thing as too much green!).  I really loved the invites - simple, yet elegant!

Enjoy!

I love the hanger in the top picture - super cute!!  And those green shoes - too lovely!!
Loving how the couple had their groomsmen wear sneaker/loafers for their shoes - lookin' pretty spiffy and comfy!

Seriously... how gorgeous is that couple??  And how beautiful was their venue {Broken Sound Club in Boca Rotan, FL} - love!  And as I mentioned before - we're loving the way the bride and groom carried the green throughout without going overboard.

If you're interested in seeing more photos of this wedding, check out the photographer, Debra Weisheit's, blog. To view more real weddings, be sure to check out The Wedding Wire Blog - they have TONS of inspiration!!

Save the Ta-Ta's - Pink Dessert Table

The masterminds behind Charm Events never cease to amaze me with their talented work and their recent dessert post is just gorgeous!  The Charm Events team designed a pink-themed dessert table in honor of the women {and men} who have lost their lives to breast cancer.  I have had multiple women in my family who have battled breast cancer, and beat it, so I'm just so impressed to have so many bloggers out there in support of finding a cure during October's Breast Cancer Awareness month {I think everyone month should be breast cancer awareness month!}.

Seriously, how gorgeous is that set up!  I love the cookies with the pink cancer ribbon frosted on them - I had a post a while back about some delicious {and beautiful} sweets that included the cancer ribbon on them... you check out that post here.

Remember ladies - always do a monthly self-check breast exam... we want to save those ta-ta's!  To find out more about ways you can support breast cancer awareness, check out the Susan G. Komen page - there is a ton of information to view!  While you are crusin' the 'net, make sure you head over to the Charm Events blog to check out more of their beautiful work!

Real Wedding: Harry Potter themed

I branched out of the Style Me Pretty site this week (although, believe me, there was enough wedding gorgeousness on there to feature more than one Wedding Wednesday post), and wanted to a share a Harry Potter themed wedding that was photographed by a local Minnesota photography company - erin johnson photography.  Erin and her associate photographers are amazing at what they do - I honestly have saved more than 10 weddings they've shot to share on upcoming Wedding Wednesday's.

Today's edition is a wedding that was shot in Duluth and themed around the Harry Potter series.  Now, I've never read any of the books, but I have heard fabulous things about them!  I simply loved the fact that a couple would center their big day around a book series - now those are true fans!  Because I've never read the series, I'm probably missing a lot of the elements they incorporated in their wedding that is included in the story - but that doesn't mean that I can't enjoy the wedding, right?!

not your average wedding shoes, huh! we love it!
These are PERFECT fall colors!
The adorable couple!

I bet this was the most unique wedding any of their guests have attended! Very memorable, too!

I just had to leave you with my favorite shot of the couple! The sun peaking through between their chins is just amazing!

Seriously, how cute!  To see more photos of this wedding, and to view other work by the talented ladies of erin johnson photography, head over to their blog or web site - you are bound to be super impressed. I know I am (so be prepared to see some other weddings featured by ejp on Wedding Wednesdays!)

Viva la Cake Pops!

This past weekend I stopped into a couple of stores and you know what I saw... Christmas decorations!  I then headed to work, and you know what my sister and I talk about - Christmas lists.  Yep, that's right, the most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner and I thought I'd start an inaugural post about the holidays with some lovely cake pops I came across on Flickr!

Maria, aka Cake Pop Lady, has some adorable Christmas, Thanksgiving and fall/Halloween cake pops to show off.  I've chosen just a few of my favorites to show you below.  If you're in need of some cake pop inspiration (in addition to Bakerella), just pop on over to her Facebook or Flickr page and check out all the goodies!

How cute are these reindeer pops?!
How about these Frosty the Snowman pops?!
I love this Snowman with his scarf!
I love these Christmas tree
Beautiful hostess gifts!
OK, OK - I had to throw this turkey in there! I love rice krispy treats too much!
I love the chocolate snowflakes that were added to these pops!
rice krispy man (get it? it's not a gingerbread man cuz it's not gingerbread!)
cake pop place settings - love it for your upcoming Thanksgiving dinner!
gobble, gobble!  Meet Tom the Turkey!
cute pumpkins for fall season
meet Frankenstein!

Aren't these too adorable!  It's making me want to try making some cute cake pops for the upcoming holiday season!  And remember, Maria has WAY more cake pops to show off on Flickr and Facebook, so be sure to check her out!!

Real Party: Pink and Tiffany Blue Bridal Shower

Don't you just love a gorgeous bridal shower?  How about a gorgeous bridal shower with a great color scheme and pretty flowers?!  That's what I thought when I came across this bridal shower featured on the Wedding Paper Divas blog.  This party was thrown for the bride-to-be by one of her bridesmaids.  The color scheme, different shades of pink with Tiffany blue accents... in addition to some rhinestones and and crystal used throughout to add some flair.  The menu was simple - coffee and desserts, which are favorites of the bride.

I am loving this flower arrangement - so pretty!  The light and darker pinks are very eye-catching!
Doesn't this dessert table look amazing?!

Such a beautiful color combination!  The Tiffany blue and the variety of pinks are so classy together!
beautiful centerpieces!

I always love the idea of leaving "words of wisdom" for the guest of honor - it's a great keepsake!

Such a gorgeous color combination!  This color scheme would be great for a baby shower for a girl (or even twins - one girl, one boy).  It would also be great for a girls night in or an adult woman's birthday party (I think the younger girls and teens prefer the brighter colors!)

Dessert Table: Hello Kitty

Do you know someone who just loves Hello Kitty - a daughter, a niece, friends daughter... a friend? :)  If so, this Hello Kitty themed dessert table featured on the Charm Event Design blog is to die for! The bright and vibrant colors just pop... and of course, the cuteness of Hello Kitty adds to the already spectacular set up!

Enjoy the eye candy!

One of the things I love best about this dessert table, well besides the obvious bright colors and how adorable it is, has to be that the items selected are relatively inexpensive to purchase: gum-balls, green gummy circles, caramel corn, marshmallows, chocolate dipped pretzel rods - and all delicious items!

Charm Event Design's blog is one of my most favorite sites for dessert table inspiration - if you are looking to have a dessert table at your next event, be sure to head there!

Halloween Dessert Table - Thanks to Target

Are you loving the idea of dessert tables {I know am!} at you parties?  Are you perhaps a little nervous that you can't afford to dress up a table like you see on other blogs {I know I am!}?  Have you ever heard of Target? If you answered yes to any of these question then this post is just for you!

Shauna Younge, a Minnesota-local who does amazing work with creating dessert tables, designed an awesome Halloween dessert table using items that only came from Target - including the food and decor!  Her post includes way more details about how she created the desserts, as well as transforming everyday items to match the Halloween theme!

Both those lovely black cake pedestals are from Target.  The light ghosts atop the white cake are created from regular and miniature marshmallows. Cute, huh!
The 3 and 1 jars are also from Target.
The favor bags are created using two brown sandwich bags; shred one bag and place the other non-shredded bag inside and fill with goodies {easy peasy!}.  See those skull and bones - yep, those are white chocolate made in ice cube trays - brilliant!  The brain cupcakes are just normal cupcakes with butter cream frosting and a frosting tip.
It's kind of hard to see, but the dish that the chocolate bars are set on is just a butter dish painted black {those cute wrappers were also created by Shauna Younge!}!   The dish used to hold the jellybeans is a gothic goblet!

These lovely invites were designed by Bethany Hway

To read more about how Shauna designed this inexpensive, yet super cool, dessert table, head over to her blog Sweet Tooth.  While you are there, stop and swoon at her other dessert table inspiration!  If you're interested in viewing more photos, stop by the Emily Steffen's blog {she's the great photographer of all the photos shown above}.
