Real Wedding: Chicago Fun in the Summer

Today's Wedding Wednesday submission comes from Paige of Paige Winn Photo.  You may remember seeing Paige's work if you check out the Harry Potter-inspired wedding we featured in October {that post can be found here}.

Steve and Lindsay got married in Chicago back in August at Prairie Productions.  It was a very DIY wedding, right down to the paintings at the reception, which were created by the bride's brother and uncle's partner (Nicolas Morgan and Roberto Juarez).

Scroll down to check out this beautiful Chicago summer wedding!

such a fun shot of the bride!

I adore this shot of the couple!  The composition of this photo is too cool!

beautiful dress!

Here are the paintings created by the bride's brother and uncle's partner

I love the simple white.  The venue (Prairie Production) is used for daytime photo shoots - that explains the gorgeous natural light!

Love the wild flower arrangements

Congratulations Steve and Lindsay!
To view more of Paige's work, be sure to check out her blog. And if you're interested in learning more about her, be sure to check back on the CK Events blog tomorrow!

Real Party: Winter ONEderland

As many of you might know, my niece was born a week ago today... and she's just way too adorable for words (you can see photos of her in this post).  Since I'm such a lover of all things party, I wanted to think ahead to her big 1st birthday party (being that it's around Christmas-time, too, everything will be on sale!).  With that said, I pretty much knew the theme I wanted use for her party - the adorable Winter ONEderland theme!  I have even asked my sister and brother-in-law, and they agreed that the theme is perfect (neither of them want to raise their baby girl as an over the top girly-girl, so of course it's perfect!) :)

My inspiration for the Winter ONEderland theme - the party The Paper Cupcake threw for her son's 1st Birthday... I'll be tucking this one away for future inspiration... but for now, I'll let you take a peek at its cuteness!  {enjoy}

How adorable is this dessert table set up?  Complete with cupcakes, cake pops, cookies and hot chocolate station!
Toppings for the guests delicious cups of hot chocolate
Seriously, how cute are these cookies?!?  Created by Sandy's Baking Memories
And these adorable cake pops!?  Created by Terri's Treasures
I just adore these mitten cookies - way too cute!!  Again, made by Sandy's Baking Memories
Adorable cupcakes {I am loving the cupcake wraps!}  Fondant toppers created by Two Sugar Babies
awesome idea - powdered sugar donuts!  Matches perfect with the theme!
These penguin cake pops are toooooooo cute!  I'm in love!  Made by Terri's Treasures
Custom water bottle wraps created by The Paper Cupcake
Custom soup bowl stickers
This cake is so adorable, too!
Perfect little smash cake
I love this birthday banner - created by The Paper Cupcake
Note to self - must make sister and brother-in-law take one cute picture of Eva a month (and indicate which month it is) so I can make a cute board like this for her party
cuuuuute little birthday hat!
The adorable invite! I love it!!

I just love this little party so much!  I also love that if I want to spruce it up to make it more girly you can use a pink or purple instead of the red.  I think I'm most in love with the penguins and polar bears!  It's way too cute!  Be sure to check out The Paper Cupcakes Facebook page to view more photos!

I'm sure I'll be back throughout the year with more parties I find adorable for a first birthday... there is just way too many out there!

I hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend!  We'll be back soon with some more inspiration!

Real Wedding: Seattle Flair

Hey all - Happy Thursday!  TGIF tomorrow, huh!  Sorry for the lack of posts this week {I'm already slacking on my resolutions and we're not even a week in! OYE!}... and sorry for the late Wedding Wednesday post - I was taking care of a sick boyfriend last night!  Since I'm a lover of anything wedding related, I wanted to give you this weeks edition of Wedding Wednesday, but just a day late!

Anyway, today's post comes from the Every Last Detail blog via La Luz Photography... and it's just stunning.  I'm loving the color scheme of black and green... I don't know why, but every time I think of Northwestern states, I always tend to think lots of trees and greenery... well and rain if it's Seattle - which is the location of this fabulous wedding!

Read on for more details and the beautiful photographs for this couples very special day!

Aren't these shoes just TO DIE for?!?! I am in love!

I am loving the green and black color combo!
The couple decided to wait to see each other until the ceremony started - here is the groom's first  view of the bride
the stunning bride

love these shots!

how gorgeous is this photo!  The scenery of the ceremony is just beautiful!
I have never heard of a wine ceremony, but this couple did just that.  The couple wrote each other letters about how much they loved the other person.  They then put those letters in a wooden box that included a bottle of wine and two wine glasses.  The box was nailed shut and is to only be opened when times were tough.  Once open they read each other the letters over a glass of wine and remind themselves of how much love they have for one another.  I absolutely adore this idea!

This photo captures my idea of the Northwest

such a fun and gorgeous looking bridal party!

Congrats to the fabulous looking couple, Andrea and Russ.  And kudos to Aly of La Luz Photography for taking such beautiful photos!!  Be sure to head over to the La Luz Photography blog to check out more photos and details from this gorgeous wedding.

2011 Welcomes... Evangelyne AnnMarie

Yep, that's right (if you're a fan of CK Events on Facebook, you probably already know this news!).  My little niece finally made her debut into this crazy world on Saturday (1-1-11) at 7:06 a.m.  She weighed 7 lbs, 13 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long.  I'm already in LOVE!  Tomorrow I took the day off to spend as much time with my new little peanut as possible!  I'll be taking some photos (I'm already planning on part of her 1st birthday present being a scrap/baby book - another part - the planning of her party!) tomorrow - so I'll have more to show in addition to the few I have below.

I think her little feet need some lotion!!

Look at that adorable little face!

Eva... my little peanut

baby and mommy

I just wanted to update everyone as to why we've been lacking in posts the past weekend.  I'm setting up my resolutions and goals for this year - where I'd like myself to be on both a personal and professional level by the end of 2011.  I love hearing from my readers - what would you like to see more of from CK Events in 2011?  Do you want more birthday parties? More baby showers?  Real weddings?  Stationery?  You tell me!

Here's a little peek at what I would like to see happen with the CK Events blog in 2011:
- more collaborations with other bloggers and businesses
- present more giveaways to my readers
- blog more often
- update blog with more work created by CK Events
- update look of blog to look more appealing (to both reader and operator)
- continue to grow and gain new followers!!!

Well - that's a quick update!  We will have plenty more to come in 2011!  Be sure to leave a comment about what you would like to see from us this year!
